Hi. I’m Ryan, and I’m sort of new to the cloud.
After about 17 years of web application development, primarily on the .NET platform, I’ve recently started a role at Microsoft as a Senior Customer Engineer. It’s sort of a shift from what I’ve normally been doing all those years, as it involves more client-facing work and is overall a bit more self-paced compared to previous jobs. More importantly, the role focuses on Azure, and helping clients solve problems in the cloud.
Now, as I mentioned, the cloud is new to me. I’ve worked a little with AWS in a previous job to do initial cloud migrations (from on-premises), but for the most part, I’ve done little work on Azure itself. Sure, I’ve spun up a couple virtual machines here and deployed a couple containers, but that was it.
So that’s what this site is all about. It’s for me to write about things I’m learning as I grow within this role. My focus will be primarily around containerization (ACI, ACA, app services), Kubernetes (AKS), and maybe some API Management.
Thanks for reading!
